<----------- M16A2
In 1956 when the United State's Army needed a light weight Assault rifle which was capable of landing multiple round's on a target up to 300 meter's away. They asked for this, and Eugene Stoner answered with a design very similar to his AR10 rifle, but instead changed it a bit and made the Caliber the new widley accepted 5.56x45 NATO round. But the early model's of this weapon were notorious for jamming. They were loaded with problem's, and to make matter's worst. The Army did not think it was nessecary to give their troop's the cleaning manual and extractor kit. But in the early 80's after some testing, Colt now developed the M16A2 rifle which is the backbone of the current Military, the M16A2 now has very good reliability epecially if well maintained. The Weapon also now feature's a 1:7 rifle twisting which allow's it to hit target's as far as away as 800 meter's. The M16A2 can also take a wide array of accessories, one of the most popular accessories is the Colt M203 40MM Projectile Launcher. The weapon has been in service for almost 40 year's now, and willl probaly keep on going for a much longer time.
